I feel that life is a precious journey, with many twists and turns that can make it exciting, and at times, overwhelming. Having a shoulder to lean on and from which to gain strength, insight and purpose is priceless. I feel that we are never given more than we can handle although it may not always feel that way, and to that end, having resources and support in difficult times makes the experience more manageable.
I have worked in both the medical and clinical fields, with an array of clients, over these past many years. I took time off to raise my son and am now looking forward to being able to pull from my life experiences, education and training to help you navigate yours. I work with people across the lifespan but especially enjoy working with adults and seniors as they traverse their life path. Being able to explore what makes you unique while pulling from your strengths allows us to identify and learn new coping strategies for meeting these challenges.
Building rapport is a pivotal first step in achieving a successful therapeutic relationship. From there we will use that relationship to come together in a manner that is comfortable to you in order to explore your concerns and challenges, and to work together in developing a plan that may incorporate holistic, existential, behavioral and/or cognitive therapeutic approaches. My areas of specialty include depression, anxiety and stress related conditions, life transitions and coaching and relational trauma.
Therapy requires mutual respect, communication and hard work, which when one remains steadfast, often uncovers a hidden inner fortitude, resilience and a clarity of purpose.
I am available weeknights and Saturdays, in the office or virtually.
