What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback is a treatment technique in which people are trained to improve their health by using signals from their own bodies. Biofeedback is something that we are all familiar with and chances are you have used biofeedback yourself. You’ve used it if you have ever taken your temperature or stepped on a scale. The thermometer tells you if you are running a fever, the scale whether you have gained weight. Both devices ‘feed back’ information about your body’s condition which you utilize to improve the condition.
At The Chicago Stress Relief Center, Inc, we utilize a biofeedback technique that monitors your heart rhythms. In addition to breathing techniques, we focus on teaching you how to increasingly shift the significance out of negative emotions and build replacement attitudes by learning to engage the power of the heart’s intent. These techniques are designed to help you to shift the feelings not just the thoughts. Once the feelings shift, then the thoughts automatically become more positive.
Who would benefit from Biofeedback?
Biofeedback is an effective way to learn to self-regulate emotional and physiological changes associated with stress, anxiety, frustration, and negative affect. Biofeedback has been found to be efficacious in treating a variety of disorders including:

How many sessions does it take?
Here at The Chicago Stress Relief Center, Inc, biofeedback is used to augment other modalities of wellness. Biofeedback sessions are scheduled in blocks of 6 sessions usually scheduled weekly to provide optimal results. Biofeedback teaches individuals self-regulation, so integrating the techniques you learn into daily life will help you to implement the new responses and behaviors bringing relief and improvement into your life. The cost is $300 per 6 sessions with discounts available for 2 or more series of biofeedback sessions.
