Biography
Dr. Howard K. Weissman, Psy.D, is director and founder of The Chicago Stress Relief Center, Inc. (CSRC). He is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in mind/body health and is a board-certified expert in traumatic stress. Dr. Weissman is also the director of psychological services for Advanced Reproductive Health Centers, Ltd. and has volunteered at The Marjorie Koyler Center for the treatment of survivors of torture.

Dr. Weissman was part of the first groups trained by Dr. Francine Shapiro in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He uses EMDR in conjunction with Hypnosis to aid people suffering with disturbing memories as well as aiding those preparing for in-vitro fertilization and other medical procedures. Dr. Weissman is one of a few who have been trained in using EMDR to help people perform at their optimal level; from children suffering with poor school performance to adolescents and adults with sports, job or relationship issues.

Dr. Weissman artfully teaches stress management and wellness promotion to some of the top executives, health-care providers, financial specialists and other individuals from the Chicago-land area. He is well respected in working with allied professionals toward the amelioration of stress related conditions, including those suffering with cancer and other medically related conditions. He consults with multiple businesses in the Chicago-land area on increasing job satisfaction and productivity.

Dr. Weissman has appeared on cable television and syndicated radio shows addressing stress management and conflict resolution issues. Dr. Weissman traveled to South Africa during the Fall of 2000 for two weeks as a citizen ambassador with the People-to-People Ambassador Program. Through the program, Dr. Weissman met with South African lawyers, physicians and elected officials to share ideas and discuss ways to address poverty and violence in South Africa. During his free time, Dr. Weissman practices Tai Chi and is constantly seeking out opportunities to use his recently-acquired scuba diving certification. He has a love for nature and is currently raising his family in the Chicago-land area, where he was born and raised.
